Going into my internship I assumed that nurses mostly did medical activities such as giving shots, taking blood, taking vitals, and other things like that. I was very wrong a large majority of the work a nurse does, especially in the doctor’s office setting I have been in, is paper work and phone calls. They still do the medical activities but I was unaware of the amount of extra work they are required to do. the nurse acts as a kind of assistant to the doctor contacting patients and their parents along with hospitals and other medical facilities.
