"How Nurse Care Affects Patient Recovery."Sacred Heart University Online. N.p., 29 June 2016. Web. 6 Mar. 2017.
When
you are sick or in the hospital the person you see the most is your nurse or
nurses. When you need water, medications, pillows, or anything else they are
the person you ask. They are your care taker for your time in the hospital or
sometimes they are care takers long term. This article highlights the fact that
the way patients are treated by nurses can affect how well or if they recover.
By taking classes, collaboration, and a smaller nurse to patient ratio there can increase a patients recovery chances greatly.
The article was written by a college, for a nursing school continuation that will help to improve the skills and bedside manner of nurses. Nurses give information to doctors and distribute medications. Patients need to trust their nurses and be feel comfortable sharing openly with them in order to get better.
I found a few quotes to highlight in my project ,"patient-centric care is directly linked to health care quality and safety. Nurses can foster this kind of health care environment in a number of ways" and
"a nurse’s ability to provide careful instructions for self-management can benefit patient quality of life.". These two quotes represent an answer to my research question.
The website is an educational site making it credible. The author uses several statistics and facts from other credible sources showing that they did research on the topic to keep it factual. All the sources were cited in the text.
My research is on the relationship between nurses and their patients and this articles is a perfect representation. The article shows that the relationship between the two is very important. The relationship does not only effect the patients overall experience but also their recovery chances
