In this blog post Emily posts her personal experiences with nurses. It is a personal story about how her nurses helped her through the birth and loss of her daughter. I chose this blog post over a traditional article because it was so personal and shows how much nurses truly care and impact people. The nurses stayed with her throughout the whole process waiting for her husband and calming her and her parents. After her daughter passed the nurses took extra steps to ensure she was comfortable during her grief and not stuck in a room with a new mom.
A few parts of the post really stuck out to me. First she states "The power of a good – no, GREAT nurse, is life changing." this was in the context of her writing on her delivery and recovery. Without the help of the nurses on staff she would not have had a slightly easier recovery. At the end she states "I can’t imagine going through the experience I went through without having some amazing nurses by my side.", this shows how her nurses really impacted her visit and well being.
The article was a blog post sponsored by Johnson and Johnson. It doesn't have fact and studies from fancy organizations but it is a true story about how nurses impacted this woman's life and made her tragic experience a little easier. My research question is How do nurses and patients affect each other? This article is about how a few nurses impacted a patient’s life making it direct support for my question.
